Welcome to The Haystack

Food | Beer | Night Club | Live Music

Hi folks, we are delighted to inform you that we will be re-opening this Saturday the 4th of July at 2pm until 10pm.

We have had to implement several changes for everyone’s safety. Unfortunately, this means we are restricted in space compared to normal. All customers must be allocated a table and there is no free roaming allowed including the main bar areas.

For the time being the government prevents us from re-starting our weekly late-night entertainment schedules for which we are renowned for. Unfortunately, this means that DJ’s, loud music, dancing, Karaoke, live music and many live sport broadcasts are going to be missing from our Haystack world for a few more weeks yet. Our opening and closing times will reduce to reflect these enforced changes. (We told you we were back but not as you know it!!!!)

This coming Saturday and Sunday tables will be provided on a “first come, first served” basis. There will be no booking facility available. There will be additional seating outside the pub on the patio, front pavements and side entrances (Weather permitting). Our kitchen will be closed for a week or so during this re-opening period.

On arrival, for inside and outside tables, all customers will be required to provide their basic contact details which we will store securely for 21 days before destroying. Current GDPR stipulations will apply to the information provided. A coloured wristband will then be provided to each customer dependent upon whether they are seated inside or outside.

Under current government guidance we will have specific entry and exit points and a queueing system in place. We will limit the number of people queueing to prevent any social distancing issues.

Please be aware that you may be refused entry should no tables be available on your arrival. Customers will not be served unless they are wearing their wristband.

For those of you that may not be aware, the current regulations regarding gatherings is as follows:

  • INSIDE: Gatherings are limited to members of any two households (or support bubbles).
  • OUTSIDE: Gatherings are limited to members of any two households (or support bubbles), or a group of at most six people from any number of households.
  • It is against the law to gather in groups of more than 30 people.

Pubs are for socialising and having fun, they are not a shop or bank or another sterile looking environment. As much as they serve a purpose of selling you a drink or some food, they are also friendly, hospitable places that are there to make you feel welcome, relaxed and want to have fun in.

We plan to reopen with trust that we all have a moral responsibility to one another and as such will not be putting up screens or making people pay with apps. There will be plenty of signage around the pub to remind you of the current government stipulations and guidance.

In accordance with our COVID-19 Risk Assessment we have introduced additional cleaning routines across all the amenities we provide along with hand sanitiser stations at every entrance and exit as well as the toilets.

Please do not come to our pub if you are ill or have symptoms. Equally if any of our staff feel unwell or have any symptoms, we will ask that they to stay away from the pub and not come to work.

If you bring your children (up to 9pm) they will not be permitted to leave your table and roam freely.

Please respect other customers and give them space. Please respect our staff and give them space.

Be patient if things you are used to doing take a little longer, the queues will not be the same as some of the supermarkets, you will get a drink!

Please enjoy being at our Pub again, we are still here by the skin of our teeth so please keep supporting us!

Thank You.

Warren, Trudy and all the team.

We focus on delivering quality in everything we do. You won’t be disappointed.
